How to prepare

Anticipate variable weather conditions

The weather in the Alps can be unpredictable, with conditions ranging from hot and sunny to cold and rainy within a matter of hours. Prepare for these variable conditions by packing appropriate gear, including rain jackets, warm layers, and sun protection.

Train for the altitude

The UTMB course takes runners through several mountain passes reaching over 2500 m. Avoid altitude sickness by arriving days before the race, giving your body time to adjust. You can also try altitude training masks to simulate the conditions you'll face during the race.
